Tuck Me In

Tuck me in and say goodnight
Plump up the pillows, turn out the light
Even without my glasses on
I'll see you in my dreams

A long sweet night of dancing and laughter
The smell of smoke is caught in my hair
Too tired to remember whose turn it is
To sleep with whom or where
I have the shakes from sheer exhaustion
But I'm so happy I really don't care
I'm not too sleepy to watch you undress
Forgive me if I stare

Tuck me in and say goodnight
Plump up the pillows, turn out the light
Even without my glasses on
I'll see you in my dreams

I feel like a child in this old tshirt
Pick up my panties off of the floor
We look up as two of the cats
Chase past the bedroom door
Stagger downstairs and unfold the couch
The bed isn't big enough for four
Take out my contacts, brush my teeth
Kiss everyone once more

Tuck me in and say goodnight
Plump up the pillows, turn out the light
Even without my glasses on
I'll see you in my dreams
